a little bit about Zoie
I followed my passion to become a psychotherapist to help others achieve their personal goals by obtaining a BS in Psychology at Simmons College in 2013 and a Masters Degree in Social Work in 2017 from NYU. I completed a Postgraduate program at Ackerman Institute for the Family where I strengthened my skills working with families and couples. I’m trained in EMDR and I’m currently accepting new clients seeking EMDR therapy.
In session, I work with my clients while they create and set healthy boundaries, practice daily coping skills, navigate through relationship issues, cope with peer and family conflict, and go through major life transitions. I put great emphasis on self-love and self-care because the most important relationship you have in life is the relationship you have with yourself. I’ve worked with individuals and couples in several clinical settings, including nonprofits, hospitals, and schools.
I believe that building trust is the first step towards establishing a healthy therapeutic environment. Creating that environment begins with empathetic and active listening which creates a warm and welcoming space for you. In that space I will be an enthusiastic, proactive, and diligent guide to help steer you toward a better, stronger and more resilient self.
I incorporate approaches which have proven to be effective over the years in my practice including EMDR, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, strength-based therapy, and positive psychotherapy. There is no “one size fits all” therapeutic approach. You are unique. Your challenges are, too. Together we'll discover the best therapeutic approach for you.
